12 in 12: The Finale

 

Hard to believe today is the last day.  Sniff, sniff.  Truly it has been super fun for me.  I have loved every second creating all of these cards.  So thank you Teri for collaborating with me for this challenge.  She also designed the fabulous graphic!   

 

I have wanted to make today's card for a while.  The thought has been in my head for a few days and I wasn't sure I would be able to pull it off.  I was definitely inspired by this card:

 

This card was created by the ever AMAZING Kristina Werner.  She created this card for Simon Says Stamp using their January 2015 card kit.   I loved the colors so much!  So I played around with my Distress Inks and other fun things and came up with this card:

 

 

 

For this card I masked off the edges of the card and then I used Seedless Preserves and Cracked Pistachios Distress Inks and blended them together.  I then stamped the sentiment from Simon Says Stamps Scripty Holiday Greetings in Versamark and heat embossed it with Ranger's Liquid Platinum embossing powder.  I stamped the snowflakes from the Circle Sayings Holiday stamp set also from Simon Says stamp and embossed them as well.  I then die cut snowflakes from a Lawn Fawn die and popped them up with foam adhesive.  To finish it off I adhered sequins and voila!   I hope you enjoyed this fun challenge with us.  Go check out Teri's last card HERE for the 12 in 12 for this year.  I know it will be phenomenal!  

 

12 in 12: Day 11

 

Hey there!   Welcome back!   Today is the day before the last day.  Sniff.  I have really enjoyed this.  In case you didn't know.  Well here is today's card.  I went super simple on this one.

 

 

 

With this one I made the card base and adhered a white panel to it.  I then took some ribbon from my stash and adhered it to the card.  I took a sticker from my stash and popped it up with 3D Foam Squares.   I added pearls to finish.   Super easy!  See you all tomorrow, but for now off you go to Teri's Blog.  

12 in 12: Day 10 a 2fer

 

So thanks for coming back!  Seriously I can't believe we are nearing the end.  Sad actually.   It has been so much fun sharing this challenge with Teri.   She is just fabulous and always good for inspiration.  

 

Without further ado, as promised, today's cards.

 

This card was made using Lawn Fawn's Ready, Set, Snow stamp set.  I also used Lawn Fawn's Merry Christmas die.

To make the sky I used Distress Inks and blended them together.   I colored the little village with none other than my trusty Copics.  

 

 

This one was made with the Winter Alpaca Stamp set and dies.  Coloring with copics is just the thing to relax me.  I finished it off with some Wink of stella to add a bit of sparkle.

12 in 12: Day 9 An Oldie

Hey there everyone!   So yesterday was a rest day.  Today I am in all sorts of under the weather stuff.  So I am going to share with you one of my absolutely most favorite-est cards I have ever made.

 

You may remember this card.  I made it last year for a Simon Says Stamp release.  It has been my all time favorite card since then.  The coloring was fun.  The image was fabulous to work with.  The inspiration came from the ever fabulous Jennifer McGuire.   Anywho, so I hope you forgive me for not posting a new card today.  I will post 2 tomorrow to make up for it.  How's that sound?  Good?  Well off to the one of my most  favorite-est people ever! 12 in 12: Day 8

 

Oh my it's Wednesday!   YAY for Wednesday.   So I really love today's card.  It was super hard to photograph though, so please keep in mind that is is fabulous in real life.  Really.

 

 

 

 

Okay so I know the photos on this are a tad overkill but I wanted to show the different looks by just using a different angle.   

So I basically took my Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink and blended it on white cardstock.  I then took my Copic Opaque watercolor and mixed it with water and splattered it on the cardstock and let dry.   I then stamped the fabulous sentiment in the Big Scripty Greetings Holiday by Simon Says Stamp with Versamark Ink.  I then put Liquid Platinum embossing Powder by Ranger and heat embossed it on vellum.   I then wrapped it around the card and adhered with Quickie Glue Pen by Sakura and Dodz by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.   I then adhered these fabulous snowflake sequins and other sequins to the card.  Not sure the manufacturer is on these.  I got them in a card kit from Simon Says Stamp last year.  I then popped up the panel using 3D Foam Squares onto the card base to finish it all off.

12 in 12: Day 7

 

It's been a week.  Wait, what?  For reals?  I guess so.   This has been really fun for me.  Pushing my creative self.  It's been dormant for quite some time dealing with other things in life.   Just glad the sleeping bear has been awakened, so to speak.

 

Well for today's card I just enjoyed making it.  This card makes me happy!

 

 

 

For this card I used a rounded stitched border die by Pretty Pink Posh and used it to round one end of the card.  I then stamped the Merry Christmas (which is from Paper Smooches Christmas Sampler stamp set) to white cardstock and adhered it to the card.  I die cut the holly from a holly die which is also from Paper Smooches.  I put it all together and added clear wink of stella to the leaves.  I tied some twine and adhered it to the card.  I used 3D Foam Squares to pop up the holly and added red pearls for the berries.  The added faux stitching finished off the card.

12 in 12: Day Six

 

Monday, Monday!  La La La La La.    Today is day 6 in this lovely challenge.  Half way to the end.  Makes me a little sad.  Anywho,  here is today's card.

 

 

 This card was super fun to make.   Of course one of my favorite things copic coloring is involved.  These cute little guys are from the Mama Elephant Reindeer Games stamps set.  I also used the matching die set to cut them out.  The sentiments and green balls are from the Mama Elephant Jingle Greetings stamps set.  I popped up the reindeer with some 3D foam squares and added Christmas Red Stickles to the noses to finish off  the card.

12 in 12: Day 5 Comin' at ya!

 

Well howdy friends!   Super happy for today's card.  I did a lot of layering on this one.  For me, I've long been a fan of layering elements on a card.  It just seems to make it more tangible, more alive if that makes sense.

 

Inspired by Teri's card yesterday, I dug out my stash and whipped this one together.

 

 

 

 

For this card I used Bazzill Basics Parakeet cardstock.  The envelope is from a Teresa Collins Design collection called Santa's List.  The wood heart is from Dear Lizzy by American Crafts.  I inked it up using Frayed Burlap Distress Ink.  I then added the sticker from a past Simple Stories collection.   The sentiment is stamped with stamps from Simon Says Stamp Holiday Hellos stamp set.  I took a copic marker and colored my twine and tied the bow.  I adhered the pearl next.  Before I adhered the embellished envelope to the card, I inked the edges of the card with Simon Says Stamp Green Apple dye ink to give it a little more dimension.  I adhered the envelope and there you have it.

12 in 12: Numero Cuatro

Oh happy day!  You're back!  It is day 4 of the fabulous 12 in 12 series and so without further ado, here is today's card:

 

 

On this card I wanted to use embossing paste.   I used Dreamweaver's Pearlescent Embossing Paste.  I really like it.   Word to the wise though, make sure you wash your stencil PRONTO after using it!  It will dry and not come off.  I speak from experience, people.   

For the stencil I used the Tim Holtz Layering Stencil SNOWFLAKES.   I love that stencil!  So pretty.   The sentiment I used is from the Jingle Greetings stamp set by Mama Elephant.   I stamped the sentiment in VersaMark on vellum.  I then  used Silver Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder by Ranger and heat embossed it.  I added just a few sequins for the finishing touch.
