WOO HOO! I get to share another fun card I created with Avocado Arts Special Delivery stamp set.
For this one, I stamped the package image and trimmed it. I adhered twine to it to give it that something extra. Hope you like how it turned out as much as I do! Be sure to check out the other pit crew girls who are sharing today:
So my friend, Wendy, is on Studio 5 today at 11am releasing Project Shoebox. You can watch on Channel 5 if you're in Utah, or stream live via their website.
Studio 5 is launching a community of memory-keepers who are interested in reclaiming old photos, and capturing the stories behind them. We’re calling it Project Shoebox. In advance, would you be interested in writing a blog post answering the question, “What happened when you shared an old photo?”
What is Project Shoebox?
Project Shoebox is the incentive you need to empty that shoebox of old photos. Heirloom photos to forgotten prints, everyone has photos to reclaim and rediscover. The Project Shoebox community, curated and hosted by Studio 5 contributor Wendy Smedley, is a safe place to learn how to archive and share photos, collect old stories, and organize treasured images in a safe place.
The Project Shoebox challenge is simple. Just scan one old photo. Then share it. Collect stories. And feel the satisfaction. You will have created a memory with a memory.

So today I am sharing another project for Technique Tuesday made for CHA. This one I really loved.
I made a few changes before sending it off. I added pearls to the handles and the twine on the bottom. There was another something added after I sent it off. See if you can tell what it is...

So I am back from CHA and am on my way to being fully recovered from the flu. Yes the former was fun, NOT the latter. Anyway I wanted to share one of the projects I made for the Technique Tuesday booth where I spent most of my time at CHA. Here it is originally from my house:

Today I get to share a sneak of the Avocado Arts February stamp release. So without further ado, here it is:

I made this card by stamping the hearts onto the mug from the Perfect Blend. I then stamped the stamp image and adhered it with 3D foam squares to give it more dimension. The sentiment is from the Zip N By set.
Fun huh!

A few years ago, my good friend Emilie, started what she calls the Aleida Challenge. Here is the story behind it through Emilie's words:
Aleida and I came together through the scrapbooking industry. She emailed me to tell me she loved my blog and to ask if I like my short hair-cut. This lead to a series of emails which eventually led me to remark that I really loved how often she posted pictures of herself with her children on her blog. And she replied to me, "Have you ever seen a photograph of your own mother and thought to yourself how fat she looked? Or how she wasn't wearing make-up? Or wasn't dressed in a glamorous outfit?" Of course my answer was no.She then responded with saying that she made it a goal to take a picture of herself with her children at least once every month. And that to use excuses about how we look, as women, is ridiculous, since our children will never care what we looked like, but only that we had physical evidence of the bond between mother and child. On September 8th, 2008 Aleida blogged a photo of herself, smiling, that read "Live today like there is no tomorrow." On September 12th, 2008 Aleida was struck by another car on her way to work and passed away, leaving 2 small children and a grieving husband. She was 41 years old.
I have made it my personal goal to follow her wise suggestion and I now take photos of myself with my children....double chins, make-up free, bed-head and all.I invite Mothers everywhere to take Aleida's Challenge. To photograph yourself with your children each and every month. And to post them here or use hashtag #ALEIDASCHALLENGE on twitter and instagram, so that we can see Aleida's legacy unfolding.Each month/week (dependiong on how many there are) I will share my favorites on Instagram, so make sure to tag your photos and follow me (PluckyMomo) to see if your photo was chosen.
Paper Smooches is showing off their CHA release during the entire month of January. 37 designers are participating along with the PS DT, so there will be a ton for projects to inspire you this month. I was super excited to be included in this! FUN!! Paper Smooches is known for their fun and whimsical hand-drawn stamps. They decided that it was time to broaden their product line to include DIES and wood mount stamps!

The new product I used is the Hickory Leaf Die. This die was super easy to use and it cut like buttah baby. I colored it with my copics and embellished with a pearl or two from Doodlebug. I used the Reflections stamp set to create the background and used the deepest sympathy sentiment from the Good Gab stamp set.
