Well all went well. Andrew came home about 2 hrs after he came out of surgery. Dr. Beals did an amazing job and once the swelling goes down, the tubes come out, it will look so good! I will post the before operation pictures and then after it's healed pictures. That will take about 3 weeks. So I am just really excited that it is finally over. Andrew is a trooper and went to WalMart with Scott tonight. Huh, go figure. Have a good night!
Well I have been MIA lately and probably will be for awhile more. Andrew will be going in for surgery in the morning for his columellar lengthening. It is a procedure that will basically be a nose surgery. We have to be at the hospital at 6:30 and at 8:30am. It will be between 1-2 hrs long and then we can take him home. This will be a bittersweet operation for us. This will change the way he looks and what we have known for the last 4 years. We have bonded with this face and it will be very hard to not see it anymore, but in it's place will be something better for Andrew. Scott and I know this is what needs to be done for Andrew. I will try to touch base. Who knows, it might just be an easy thing and no problems or worries. Take care!
Okay so I have been tagged by my friend Lisa Adams to tell the reasons why I named my kids what I did. Alright here goes nothin!
Andrew Scott Harris: I loved the name Andrew from day one. Scott had major reservations and here are the reasons. #1. His friend Duane Zeldenrust named their first boy Andrew Scott after Scott and their friend Andy Wright. #2. Scott didn't like the idea of naming kids after friends. Now the thing is if Andrew is named after anyone, and he isn't, it would have been my friend Drew Neilsen. I met Drew at Ricks. He was in my humanities class, in the same apt complex and he dated my roommate. What a funny and great guy. Come to find out, he was one of Scott's mission companions!!! We didn't realize his initials were ASH later. A little of Scott and me in his name.
Sarah Jane Harris: Sarah was so easy for us. We both liked it a lot, but we wanted to see what she looked like. We also like the name Carly so we just waited. My middle name is Jane and it just went so well with Sarah. When she was a bit younger, we would ask her what her name was and she would say Sassa. So we call her Sassa or Sassy. Very appropriate!
Ryan Michael Harris
Ryan was the worst to pick out! I loved the name Ryan from the start, but Scott felt it sounded too close to his brother's name, Bryan. Well I went through all sorts of baby name books and basically nothing was as good. So when the nurse came in about an hr before we were to check out, she said we needed to fill out the form before we left. So I left it up to Scott and he came up with Ryan Michael Harris. And, as with the other kids, it fits!
Okay so I seriously haven't scrapped for 2 months now. I soooo need to get going on this. This weekend I am going to finish at least 5 LO/projects. I have to get myself back in the groove again! It kills me. So anywho, hopefully I will be able to post my stuff on Monday. We will see. Wish me luck!
