Well strangely enough, I have decided to put our letter on this blog. It is much easier to format the photos the way I want so here we go.
We have had many milestones in our family this year. We will start with the main man.
Scott: He still serves in the bishopric of our ward and really enjoys it. If you ask him, being a counselor is the best calling ever, well besides Nursery. He was laid off from his job in early September and was pushed in a direction he had been thinking of going for a while. He got his electrical contractor's license and has started Harris Electric LLC. Yes, we are the proud owners of an official business. He has been doing fairly well and has been a wonderful provider to our family.
I (Ashley) am crazy busy all the time it seems. I was released from my calling as Mia Maid Advisor and am now currently serving as the Nursery Leader. Oh I truly love that calling! I have continue to run and operate The Scrap Review and have been enjoying that immensely. Someday I will be able to slow down and enjoy the little things. Soon I hope.
Andrew. Wow. (This is my letter and my perrogative to start bragging) Firstly this year he turned 8. This is significant to those of us who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. This means he is old enough to get baptized. He chose to do so and we couldn't have been happier.
He is in the third grade and is just a super smart kid. He loves school, loves to read and mostly loves sports.
Sarah 6, is in 1st grade and is loving it. She is our social butterfly and the older kids come running to give her hugs and say hello. She is our little artist. She loves to draw pictures for everyone and our paper is running out! She and Andrew tried out for their Christmas musical and they both got speaking roles. It was so fun to see them both perform!
Ryan 4, is just a fun kid bursting with smiles and energy. This boy couldn't be more ready to go to school and is agonizing that he has to wait until next fall. He is a Jedi. Did I mention that? Yes, he is. He knows all the Star Wars characters from Luke and Han to Boba Fett and more. He knows more than I do that's for sure. He loves to sing and does an amazing job of it. This kid can sing back verses to a song he just heard that day and it floors me!
Carly 2, is getting to be so big. She is adjusting to not being the youngest anymore and is doing really well with that. I love watching her with Ryan as they are home with me during the day while the big 'uns are off to school. They are learning to play together and are forming their own special bond. Carly is in nursery with me and it is so fun to see her interact with the other children in our ward. She is a firecracker to be sure!
Ellie 3 months, joined our family this year. She is a clone of her brothers and sisters and is such a good baby! She has been sleeping through the night since she was 2 months. I have really enjoyed that extra sleep. She is a super happy, smiley baby and is her daddy's princess. Well the third princess. She has rolls upon rolls and we can't help but munch on her a little.
We have been pulled and stretched in many ways this year and are truly grateful for it. We have learned to rely more on the Lord and our faith has been strengthened. May this find you all in good health and in good spirits. We love you all and cherish you!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!
Love,
Scott, Ashley, Andrew, Sarah, Ryan, Carly and Ellie Harris
